Illinois requires formal campaign finance filings once you've spent more than $5,000. This campaign won't come close to that. This page exists because it's the right thing to do, not because anyone is making me.

I help make Marengo Weekly, the free local newsletter. Justin Bounds founded it and edits it; I handle the website and write some of its stories. Everything I write goes to Justin for approval before it publishes, and I don't set the paper's direction or run its social media.

Because I'm a candidate, the paper puts its safeguards in writing where you can hold us to them: Marengo Weekly does not cover my race, my opponents, or local campaigns. Anything I write that touches the city is edited and approved by Justin, and I have no final say on it. Any story where I have a personal interest carries a clear disclosure. Travis provided website hosting, template code, and the domain registration (christineloveless.com, $10.46 for one year, paid July 2, 2026) to Christine Loveless, also a Ward 4 candidate, at no cost. Both Ward 4 seats — one 4-year and one 2-year — are on the April 2027 ballot, so Ward 4 voters will elect two aldermen in this election.
